Another year has flown by – it’s brought more than its fair share of excitement and challenges but overall it’s been a positive year for us here at Wrendale and we’re all very excited about what 2025 has in store for us. Here are some of my highlights…
Kings Award♥
We were absolutely over the moon to receive a Kings Award in March. It is one of the most prestigious awards that a business can win and reflects the huge effort and dedication of our team as well as all the hard work that we put into every element of the design process. Jack and I were so proud to win this award. We sent Lisa, our Head of Sales to a reception with King Charles at Windsor Castle where she was lucky enough to meet him and tell him about Wrendale.
Becoming B Corp Certified ♥
A huge milestone for us was our B Corp certification. Being a B Corp certified company means that we meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. It’s more than a certification—it’s a commitment to balancing profit with purpose. We are so proud to have joined the B Corp community and of what it represents.
Clay Sculptures ♥
We’re constantly thinking of new products to add to our collections and have been asked for some sculptures so this year I finally got around to having a go at interpreting some of my designs in 3D and turning them into clay models. I absolutely loved the process of bringing the watercolours to life in clay and can’t wait to work on some more. Watch this space!
Otter Garden Centres Collaboration ♥
I was thrilled to have been asked by our lovely stockist, Otter Garden Centres, to produce a design for them to commemorate their 60th anniversary. They wanted it to incorporate family values, as well as of course featuring an otter. The design is called ‘The Keepsake’ and we produced a beautiful mug for them as part of their celebrations.
The Gift of the Year awards♥
Gift of the Year is a big event in the giftware industry calendar and I was absolutely over the moon this year to be honoured with the outstanding achievement award. This has been won by some truly inspirational people in the past and I feel so honoured to have my name amongst them. It was a fabulous night and definitely felt like a ‘pinch me’ moment!
Wild Wrendale ♥
I have continued to devote a lot of my time this year to our rewilding project. We’re starting to see some really exciting changes in the landscape now as the natural regeneration starts to happen. The pigs have settled in nicely and are helping to speed this process up too. The beavers have transformed the pond and the wetland is beginning to take shape. We can’t wait to see how it continues to change as we head into 2025.
We’re so excited to welcome the new year and share the amazing products we’ve been working on behind the scenes. For now, here’s a sneak peek at one of our upcoming designs for 2025...
