Meet the Wrendale family - Mark, Stock Control

Next up in our 'Meet the Wrendale family' series we have the fabulous Mark, who is in charge of Stock Control at Wrendale. We caught up with him to learn more about his role, what he enjoys most about working at Wrendale, and how he likes to spend his time outside of work...

Working for a company that has a clear ideology, to have a positive impact on the world, is a great feeling. Whenever anyone asks what I do and I say where I work they are always so complementary about the products, it’s great to be part of the company that brings joy to people through beautiful artwork. The team I work with are brilliant, to be able to work with people that I would call friends rather than colleagues is such a bonus, it makes for a supportive and friendly atmosphere. 

My job is so varied, no two days ever feel the same. As well as doing my part in helping to lead the warehouse team, in my role as Stock Control, I am responsible for every bit of stock that comes into the warehouse. I am trusted to know where it is, what condition it is in and if it’s available for orders. I have to manage and monitor the inventory to make sure the right quantities are available at the right time in the right place to give the warehouse the smoothest possible transition throughout the order picking and packing process.  
 
I am also tasked with ensuring everyone is safe, I help look after health and safety and I do regular checks to make sure everyone is able to safely complete their tasks, this includes making sure all equipment and vehicles are up to date with services, repairs and checks. 

Yes, I have two cats, Fungus, is the oldest, she’s roughly 9 years old, she is a black British short hair. Faith is my other, she is 6 years old, she is a black and white short hair. 

I live a very social life, mostly revolving around football, I play numerous times a week, 5 aside, 7 aside and 11 aside. In my spare time I am lucky enough to report on football, mainly as a data statistician, but with regular write ups and even the odd appearance on the airwaves. I follow Scunthorpe United home and away. I am a somewhat regular visitor to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium cheering on Spurs as well. Away from football, I have a love for cooking.

It was a highland cow plush. The plush always go down well as a great gift!  

 

Tough choice, a falcon maybe, it would be fun to soar through the sky at speeds they can reach.
